For over 20 years, I’ve had the joy of working with thousands of students, performers, and
community members—helping people step into the music, build confidence, and feel like they
belong. Kevin on the Keys grew out of that work: a space where Broadway is welcoming,
accessible, and meant to be shared.
MY STORY
How a Love for Broadway Became a Mission
I started playing piano at three years old and grew up immersed in school musicals, church pageants, and performance of all kinds. Theatre was always part of my world.
When I was eleven, I was cast in a summer theatre production of Mame, one of only two children in a company of adult performers. I loved being onstage, but I was just as drawn to the rehearsal room—the music, the collaboration, and the process of building something together.
During that production, something happened that changed everything. One day at rehearsal, the music director hadn’t arrived yet, and I volunteered to step in. I sat at the piano and played what I could as the cast sang. Hearing those voices respond was electric.
In that moment, my love of the piano, the stage, and collaboration came together. I began to understand musical direction not as authority, but as connection.
That instinct stayed with me. As I grew older, I found myself in roles that blended performance and leadership—performing onstage while playing in the pit, singing in ensembles while also accompanying rehearsals, and occasionally stepping in to conduct.
Teachers and directors encouraged this duality. I learned how to lead rooms with clarity and warmth, creating spaces where people felt confident taking creative risks.
Today, that same instinct drives Kevin on the Keys. At its heart, this work is about creating spaces where people feel welcome, capable, and connected through music.
It’s still the same feeling I had at the piano years ago—making music with people, and watching what becomes possible when they realize they belong.

Worked professionally as a conductor, musical director, and performer on national tours, offBroadway productions, and large-scale entertainment projects. This period included touring productions, off-Broadway work as both actor and musical director, and concert performances at Carnegie Hall.
2019–Present
Kevin on the Keys: Performances & Community
Began producing original concert experiences in 2019 that blended solo piano, hosting, and collaboration with Broadway performers. Officially branded as Kevin on the Keys beginning in 2023, creating welcoming, community-centered performance spaces.

Officially formed Kevin on the Keys LLC to support mission-driven workshops, performances, and educational programming focused on accessibility, community, and joy.

How I Teach, Why It Works
My approach to teaching is simple: people learn best when they feel safe, open, and at ease.
These workshops aren’t about being perfect or performing at a high level. They’re about connection, storytelling, and discovering something new through music you already enjoy.
I focus on creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and comfortable stepping in. Whether someone is brand new or experienced, the goal is the same — help everyone work together and bring a story to life through music and movement.
Whether I’m leading a workshop, hosting a concert, or guiding a conversation, I bring both musical skill and real human connection. That’s what makes the experience feel natural, engaging, and genuinely fun.
Inclusion Over Excellence
Everyone who shows up belongs here. I don’t teach to sort people by skill level or to create “stars.” I teach because people deserve access to music and performance, regardless of experience, background, or confidence.
Connection Before Skills
Technique matters—but connection comes first. We’re not here to get it right. We’re here to get it together. When people feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and work as an ensemble, learning happens naturally.
Joy is Non-Negotiable
If it’s not fun, I’m not doing my job. Music and theatre are about storytelling and shared experience—things humans have done forever. My goal is for people to leave feeling happier, more confident, and glad they showed up.

Why I Do This Work
I remember being young and realizing that music could bring people together in a way nothing
else could. Sitting at the piano, watching voices respond, feeling something shift in the room—it
felt powerful, alive, and deeply human. I knew early on that this was the kind of space I wanted to
spend my life creating.
As I grew older, that feeling never left. What changed was my understanding of it. The magic
wasn’t just being onstage—it was what happened between people when music made them feel
connected, capable, and seen.
That’s why Kevin on the Keys exists. Because that feeling shouldn’t be reserved for professionals
or people who already think they’re “good” at this. Everyone deserves access to music that
welcomes them in and invites them to participate
When someone tells me, “I didn’t think this was for me,” and then surprises themselves by wanting more music, more connection, more play — that’s why I do this.
When a group walks into the room carrying stress, nerves, or self-doubt, and leaves more open, connected, and willing to take risks together — that’s why I do this.
When someone who moves through the world differently lights up a room with joy and participation — reminding everyone that creativity has no single shape or entry point — that’s why I do this.
The world doesn’t need more spaces built on pressure, competition, or judgment. It needs places where people feel safe to try, supported in the process, and empowered by the experience—places where music and movement bring people together instead of holding them apart. That’s what Kevin on the Keys is about.
